Drivers were warned to take extra time for their journeys as snow and ice affected some parts of Scotland.
There was snow overnight on parts of the M74 and A9 and higher routes like the A93 from Ballater to Glenshee. Icy conditions were reported on the M8.
A Met Office yellow "be aware" warning had been in place across most parts of the country until midday.
Transport Minister Derek Mackay said agencies were working to ensure a "co-ordinated and effective" response.
In Dumfries and Galloway, a woman died following crash involving an ambulance on the A76. Police said conditions in the area were wintry.
On Sunday, the emergency services had to deal with "several" accidents on the A9 at the Drumochter Pass.
The transport minister visited a salt depot near Glasgow as gritters were out across the country.
